Join us for the book launch of BORN IN FLAMES: THE BUSINESS OF ARSON AND THE REMAKING OF THE AMERICAN CITY, an in-depth study of how the infamous arsons that took place in the 1970s South Bronx were caused by austerity, landlord greed and governmental neglect. The program will include a special screening of A DECADE OF FIRE (directed by Vivan Vasquez and Gretchen Hildebran) followed by a panel discussion with the book’s author Bench Ansfeld, organizer and writer Shellyne Rodriguez, film director Vivan Vasquez, and South Bronx organizer Elliot Liu.
