Social Justice Showcase

The Social Justice Showcase brings together filmmakers, community organizers, activists, experts, and NYC residents to discuss and educate on the social justice issues that impact the quality of life for NYC residents. This year’s showcase focuses on the prison system. Each film featured in this series dives into different ramifications of our prison and justice systems. The showcase is co-organized by MDC Staff, Educators and the leadership committee from MDC’s the most recent Community Producers Program (CPP) cohort. The 2019 showcase partners are: Institute for Transformative Mentoring, Documentary Forum at City College, Third World Newsreel, Harlem Stage, and the New York Latino Film Festival.
